THE FLOATING REALMS

THE FLOATING REALMS

Intro

Far above the clouds, hidden from the world below, entire kingdoms float among the stars.

For centuries, the Floating Realms lived in peace.

Until the Sky Crystals began to crack.

Now powerful storms are spreading between the islands, ancient dragons are awakening, and mysterious shadows are creeping through the skies.

When three sisters discover they possess magical elemental powers, they are chosen to protect the Floating Realms before everything falls into chaos.

Together they must travel across floating kingdoms, master incredible abilities, uncover forgotten secrets, and learn that their greatest strength is not magic at all.

It is each other.

But with danger rising and time running out, can they save the Floating Realms before the sky itself begins to fall?

Chapter One

The Island Above the Clouds

Ariana had always wondered what was above the clouds.

Not aeroplanes.

Not birds.

Higher.

Much higher.

The kind of place people only dreamed about.

One afternoon, while exploring the hills with Melia and Mai, something strange happened.

The wind stopped.

Every bird fell silent.

Then a glowing crystal fell from the sky.

It landed softly in the grass.

The sisters stared.

The crystal shimmered with blue, purple, and silver light.

Mai poked it.

Nothing happened.

Melia poked it.

Still nothing.

Ariana picked it up.

WHOOSH!

A beam of light shot into the clouds.

The ground trembled.

And suddenly, a giant staircase appeared in the sky.

The girls looked up.

The staircase disappeared into the clouds above.

Mai grinned.

"We're definitely climbing that."

Chapter Two

The Floating Realms

The staircase seemed endless.

Step after step after step.

Mai complained seventeen times.

Melia counted them.

Ariana told them both to keep moving.

Finally they reached the top.

And gasped.

Floating islands stretched across the sky.

Huge waterfalls poured from island edges into the clouds below.

Dragons soared overhead.

Golden bridges connected floating kingdoms.

Castles sparkled in the sunlight.

The place was beautiful.

And impossible.

A tiny creature landed beside them.

It looked like a fox mixed with a cat.

Its glowing green eyes widened.

"Oh no."

"What?" asked Ariana.

The creature pointed.

"You weren't supposed to find this place."

Chapter Three

The Guardian

"My name is Nimbus," said the creature.

"I'm a Realm Guardian."

Mai immediately tried to cuddle him.

Nimbus sighed.

"Humans always do that."

He led the sisters through a floating village.

Everywhere they looked, people used magic.

Children rode clouds.

Shopkeepers sold bottled rainbows.

Birds delivered glowing letters.

Melia's eyes were huge.

"This is incredible."

Nimbus looked worried.

"Actually..."

The sisters noticed dark cracks spreading through the sky.

Some floating islands were shaking.

Others looked damaged.

A distant explosion echoed through the clouds.

BOOM.

Nimbus lowered his ears.

"The Floating Realms are dying."

Chapter Four

The Four Elements

Nimbus took them to the Crystal Temple.

At the centre stood four giant crystals.

Blue.

Green.

Purple.

Orange.

Each glowed faintly.

A wise old dragon waited beside them.

"My name is Aurelia."

The dragon bowed her head.

"We have been waiting."

"For us?" asked Ariana.

Aurelia nodded.

"The Crystal Prophecy spoke of three sisters."

The girls exchanged nervous looks.

Aurelia pointed at the crystals.

One by one they began glowing.

Blue light surrounded Ariana.

Water swirled around her hands.

Green light surrounded Melia.

Flowers instantly bloomed at her feet.

Purple light surrounded Mai.

Wind spun around her like a tiny tornado.

The sisters gasped.

They had magic.

Real magic.

Then the orange crystal suddenly flickered.

And went dark.

Chapter Five

The Shadow Dragon

Aurelia looked alarmed.

"The Fire Crystal."

"What about it?" asked Melia.

"It's dying."

A distant roar shook the temple.

The walls trembled.

Outside, dark clouds gathered.

Lightning flashed.

Another roar echoed through the sky.

Much closer this time.

Nimbus ran to a window.

"Oh no."

The sisters rushed over.

A giant black dragon flew through the storm.

Its glowing red eyes burned like fire.

Dark energy surrounded its wings.

Everywhere it flew, islands began to crack.

Aurelia's face became serious.

"The Shadow Dragon has returned."

The dragon turned in the sky.

And looked directly at the temple.

Directly at them.

For one terrifying moment, Ariana felt certain of something.

The dragon knew they were there.

And it was coming.

Chapter Six

The Storm Kingdom

The Shadow Dragon was coming.

Fast.

Aurelia quickly gathered the sisters.

"You must leave the temple."

"Leave?" asked Mai.

"Why?"

"The Fire Crystal is hidden in the Storm Kingdom."

Nimbus gasped.

"The most dangerous realm?"

Aurelia nodded.

"The Shadow Dragon wants it."

The sisters exchanged nervous looks.

Of course the most important crystal would be hidden in the most dangerous place.

That seemed unfair.

Very unfair.

Before they could complain, Aurelia opened a glowing portal.

Wind howled around them.

"Go."

The girls stepped through.

Moments later they found themselves standing on a floating island surrounded by giant thunderstorms.

Lightning danced between clouds.

Thunder boomed overhead.

Mai grinned.

"This is AWESOME."

The others disagreed.

Chapter Seven

The Dragon Who Hated Fire

The Storm Kingdom was home to dragons.

Lots of dragons.

Big dragons.

Tiny dragons.

Sleeping dragons.

Grumpy dragons.

One dragon in particular seemed especially grumpy.

His name was Emberwing.

Which was unfortunate.

Because Emberwing was terrified of fire.

"You are a fire dragon," Ariana pointed out.

"I know."

"And you're scared of fire?"

"Very."

The sisters tried not to laugh.

Failed.

Completely.

Emberwing crossed his arms.

"It isn't funny."

"It is a little funny," said Mai.

Eventually Emberwing explained.

Years ago the Shadow Dragon attacked his home.

Ever since then he had been afraid.

Melia smiled kindly.

"Being scared doesn't make you weak."

Emberwing thought about that.

Nobody had ever told him that before.

Chapter Eight

The Fire Crystal

Deep inside a mountain of glowing crystal, they finally found it.

The Fire Crystal.

It was beautiful.

Bright orange and gold.

Tiny flames danced inside it.

But something was wrong.

Dark cracks covered its surface.

The crystal was fading.

Suddenly the mountain shook.

BOOOOOOM.

Everyone froze.

Another shake.

Then another.

Outside, a terrifying roar echoed through the kingdom.

The Shadow Dragon had arrived.

And this time he wasn't alone.

Dozens of shadow creatures poured from the storm clouds.

The battle for the Fire Crystal had begun.

Chapter Nine

The Truth About the Shadow Dragon

The sisters raced through collapsing tunnels.

Shadow creatures chased them.

Rocks crashed around them.

Lightning flashed outside.

Everything was chaos.

Then something unexpected happened.

The Fire Crystal suddenly glowed.

A vision appeared.

The girls watched in shock.

The Shadow Dragon wasn't always evil.

Long ago he had been one of the realm guardians.

A protector.

A hero.

Until his own crystal shattered.

When that happened, darkness slowly consumed him.

"He wasn't born bad," whispered Melia.

"No," said Ariana.

"He was hurt."

For the first time, the sisters didn't feel angry.

They felt sad.

Maybe the Shadow Dragon didn't need destroying.

Maybe he needed saving.

Chapter Ten

Four Sisters of the Sky

The Fire Crystal floated into the air.

Its light spread across the kingdom.

Suddenly a stream of orange energy shot toward Mai.

Fire swirled around her hands.

The girls stared.

"Wait."

Ariana blinked.

"You got another element?"

Mai looked delighted.

"I HAVE FIRE!"

Wind and flames danced around her.

Nimbus groaned.

"This feels dangerous."

"It probably is."

Outside, the Shadow Dragon landed before them.

The ground shook beneath his claws.

The final battle seemed moments away.

But instead of attacking, Ariana stepped forward.

"We know what happened to you."

The dragon froze.

"We know you used to protect these realms."

The darkness around him flickered.

For a moment, just a moment, sadness appeared in his glowing eyes.

Then the darkness returned.

"You know nothing."

With a mighty roar, he launched into the sky.

The storm followed him.

And somewhere in the distance, a dark floating castle emerged from the clouds.

A castle none of them had noticed before.

Aurelia's voice echoed through a crystal message.

"The Shadow Citadel."

Silence fell.

Nimbus looked terrified.

The sisters looked determined.

Their greatest adventure was only just beginning.

To be continued...

Little Lesson

💜 Sometimes people who seem angry are actually hurting.

💙 Courage is not the absence of fear.

🩵 Understanding someone can be more powerful than fighting them.
