THE DAY THE SISTERS FORGOT HOW TO BE KIND

THE DAY THE SISTERS FORGOT HOW TO BE KIND 💜✨

Three sisters.

One very bad day.

And far too much shouting.

Ariana thought Melia never listened.
Melia thought Mai always got her own way.
Mai thought her sisters were being mean on purpose.

Nobody wanted to share.
Nobody wanted to say sorry.
And nobody was acting like best friends anymore.

But when a mysterious magical house begins showing the girls what life would look like without kindness, teamwork, or love between sisters… everything starts to change.

Because sisters are supposed to be more than family.

They are meant to be forever friends. ✨

Chapter One

The Day Everything Went Wrong

It started with shouting.

Again.

“Ariana took my charger!”

“No I didn’t!”

“Melia keeps copying me!”

“Mai won’t share her sweets!”

The house felt noisy from the second they woke up.

Doors slammed.

Feet stomped.

Someone cried dramatically over cereal.

Someone else huffed because they had to wait for the bathroom.

Mum stood in the kitchen holding her cup of tea very slowly.

Too slowly.

That usually meant she was trying very hard not to lose patience.

“You three,” she sighed. “Sisters are supposed to help each other, not argue every five minutes.”

“We do help each other,” Ariana said.

Melia folded her arms. “Sometimes.”

Mai looked down guiltily.

“…when we feel like it.”

Mum raised one eyebrow.

That evening, the girls were sent upstairs early after another argument over whose turn it was to use the tablet.

“I’m not talking to anyone,” Ariana muttered dramatically.

“Good,” Melia muttered back.

Mai crossed her arms too, even though she mostly just copied the older girls.

Rain tapped softly against the windows as the sisters sat in the bedroom in complete silence.

Well.

Almost silence.

Melia was loudly crunching crisps on purpose.

Ariana glared at her.

Mai rolled her eyes.

Then suddenly…

THUD.

All three girls froze.

“What was that?” whispered Mai.

Another THUD echoed above them.

The attic.

The girls stared at each other.

The attic had been locked for years.

Chapter Two

The Key In The Hallway

The hallway felt colder than usual.

The sisters crept downstairs together holding onto each other’s sleeves, trying not to admit they were scared.

Another THUD came from above.

Mai jumped.

“Nope,” she whispered. “Absolutely not.”

But then Melia noticed something on the hallway table.

A tiny golden key.

It definitely had not been there earlier.

Attached to it was a note written in glittery purple ink.

FOR SISTERS ONLY.

Ariana slowly picked it up.

“That’s not creepy at all,” Melia muttered.

The girls climbed the attic stairs carefully.

Creeeeeeak.

Each step groaned loudly beneath them.

The attic door stood at the top, dusty and old.

Right in the middle was a tiny golden keyhole.

Mai swallowed.

“That key better not fit.”

It fit immediately.

CLUNK.

The attic door slowly opened by itself.

Warm golden light spilled into the hallway.

Inside the attic were shelves packed with strange glowing objects.

Floating books.

Spinning clocks.

Jars full of glowing stars.

And in the centre of the room stood a huge mirror with sparkling words written across the top.

THE SISTER MIRROR.

Melia frowned.

“That sounds suspicious.”

Then the mirror suddenly flashed brightly.

And three reflections appeared inside it.

The girls gasped.

The reflections were them.

Except older.

Wiser.

Kinder.

And smiling together.

Chapter Three

The Mirror That Told The Truth

The glowing reflections stared back at them.

Ariana’s reflection crossed her arms.

“You argue too much.”

Melia blinked. “Excuse me?”

Mai’s reflection sighed dramatically.

“You don’t listen to each other.”

“That’s not true,” Ariana argued immediately.

All three reflections raised their eyebrows.

“…okay maybe a little,” Melia admitted.

The mirror shimmered again.

Suddenly the girls saw scenes floating across the glass.

Ariana ignoring Melia while she was upset.

Melia refusing to share.

Mai shouting because she didn’t get her way.

Then another scene appeared.

The girls older.

Laughing together.

Helping each other.

Protecting each other.

The attic glowed warmly.

“You can become either version,” the reflections said together.

“That’s deep,” Melia whispered.

Mai pointed suddenly.

“What’s that?”

Beside the mirror sat three glowing objects.

A pink bracelet.

A blue star necklace.

And a tiny pastel heart shaped ring.

The moment the girls touched them…

WHOOSH.

Sparkles exploded everywhere.

The attic shook violently.

“Oh no,” Ariana groaned.

The magic had started.

Chapter Four

The Sister Swap Disaster

The next morning started badly.

Very badly.

Melia woke up screaming.

“My hair is straight!”

Across the room, Ariana stared in horror at giant curly hair bouncing everywhere.

Mai gasped loudly.

“I’M TALL!”

The girls had swapped bodies.

Complete chaos exploded through the house.

Ariana kept accidentally tripping over Melia’s baggy clothes.

Melia could not stop flicking Ariana’s ponytail around dramatically.

Mai was furious because nobody believed she was actually Mai.

Mum walked into the room slowly.

“…I’m going back downstairs,” she said calmly.

Things only got worse.

Melia accidentally used Ariana’s phone to send a voice note singing loudly into the microphone.

Ariana nearly cried.

Mai kept trying to act mature but got distracted by biscuits every four minutes.

By lunchtime the girls were exhausted.

“I hate this,” Ariana groaned.

Melia sighed.

“So do I.”

Mai looked upset.

Then quietly she whispered, “Maybe this is what the mirror meant.”

The older girls looked at her.

“For once,” Mai continued softly, “we actually know how each other feels.”

The room went silent.

Then slowly…

The glowing jewellery shimmered.

And suddenly…

POP.

Everything switched back.

Chapter Five

The House Of Feelings

The girls thought the magic was over.

It was not.

Later that evening Ariana accidentally snapped at Melia again.

Immediately…

BOOOOM.

The living room transformed around them.

The walls turned grey.

Rain clouds formed above the sofa.

The flowers drooped sadly.

Mai stared around in horror.

“The house changes with our moods?!”

Every angry word made things worse.

The room darkened.

Thunder rumbled.

Cushions exploded dramatically off the sofa.

“STOP SHOUTING!” Melia yelled.

That made three more thunderclouds appear.

Ariana groaned. “This is impossible.”

Then Mai quietly walked over and picked up one of the fallen cushions.

“Sorry,” she whispered.

Instantly…

One tiny flower bloomed.

The girls froze.

Melia slowly helped fix the blankets.

More flowers appeared.

Ariana sighed and quietly apologised too.

Warm sunlight suddenly poured through the windows.

The storm clouds vanished.

The living room transformed into the cosiest room they had ever seen.

Soft fairy lights twinkled above them.

The sisters sat together quietly.

For the first time in a while…

Nobody argued.

Chapter Six

The Day They Stopped Listening

The next morning started peacefully.

For about six minutes.

Then Ariana wanted music on.

Melia wanted silence.

Mai wanted cartoons.

“No one ever listens to me!” Melia shouted.

“You literally interrupt everyone!” Ariana snapped back.

Mai groaned loudly and threw herself dramatically onto the sofa.

“I wish I had different sisters.”

The second the words left her mouth…

The glowing jewellery flashed.

The room went silent.

Completely silent.

The girls blinked in confusion.

Then Ariana realised something terrifying.

Nobody could hear each other anymore.

Their mouths moved.

But no sound came out.

Melia tried explaining something using wild hand gestures.

Mai misunderstood completely and handed her a banana.

Ariana burst out laughing.

Then Melia laughed too.

Soon all three girls were laughing so hard they fell onto the floor.

For the first time in ages, they actually looked at each other properly.

Not shouting.

Not interrupting.

Just listening.

The jewellery finally glowed warmly again.

And their voices returned.

Mai smiled sheepishly.

“I don’t want different sisters anymore.”

Ariana squeezed her hand.

“Good.”

Melia grinned.

“Because you’re stuck with us forever.”

Chapter Seven

The Sharing Challenge

That afternoon the mirror appeared again.

Across the glass, glowing words swirled brightly.

ONLY SISTERS WHO SHARE MAY PASS.

“Pass where?” Melia asked nervously.

Suddenly the attic floor disappeared beneath them.

WHOOSH.

The girls landed inside a giant magical maze filled with floating shelves.

On every shelf sat things they loved most.

Ariana’s favourite jacket.

Melia’s sketchbooks.

Mai’s sweets and toys.

But there was a problem.

The doors only opened when something was shared willingly.

Not traded.

Not snatched.

Shared kindly.

At first the girls struggled badly.

“No, that’s mine.”

“But I wanted it!”

“I had it first!”

Every selfish choice made the maze grow bigger.

The walls stretched higher and higher.

Finally Ariana sighed.

“You can borrow my jacket.”

A golden door appeared.

Melia blinked.

Then she smiled softly and handed Mai her favourite glitter pens.

Another door opened.

Soon the sisters were helping each other without even thinking about it.

And strangely…

Sharing no longer felt unfair.

It actually made things more fun.

Chapter Eight

The Invisible Sister

That night, Mai sat quietly while Ariana and Melia chatted excitedly.

Nobody noticed she had gone silent.

Nobody noticed she looked sad.

Then suddenly…

POOF.

Mai disappeared.

“AHHHH!” she screamed invisibly.

Ariana and Melia panicked.

“Where did she go?!”

Only Mai’s voice remained.

The mirror glowed again.

SOMETIMES PEOPLE DISAPPEAR WHEN THEY FEEL UNSEEN.

The older girls looked at each other guiltily.

They had been ignoring her all evening.

Melia sat down quietly.

“We’re sorry, Mai.”

Ariana nodded.

“You matter too. Always.”

The room glowed softly.

Slowly Mai began reappearing.

First her shoes.

Then her arms.

Then finally her smiling little face.

She ran straight into her sisters’ arms.

And for once…

Nobody teased her for being emotional.

Chapter Nine

The Best Team In The World

The final challenge came the next evening.

The attic transformed into complete chaos.

Books flew everywhere.

Paint exploded from jars.

Glitter blasted across the ceiling.

The mirror cracked loudly.

“You must work together,” the reflections warned.

“But properly this time.”

The sisters immediately got organised.

Ariana stayed calm and made a plan.

Melia used her quick thinking to solve problems.

Mai encouraged everyone whenever things got difficult.

They listened.

Shared.

Helped.

And most importantly…

They were kind.

Together they fixed the attic piece by piece.

Then suddenly the mirror glowed brighter than ever before.

The reflections smiled proudly.

“You remembered.”

“Remembered what?” Ariana asked.

The reflections spoke softly.

“Sisters are not supposed to be perfect.”

“They are supposed to love each other anyway.”

Chapter Ten

Forever Friends

The next morning the attic was gone.

No glowing mirror.

No magical jewellery.

No floating books.

Everything looked normal again.

Almost.

Because the sisters had changed.

Not completely.

They still argued sometimes.

Melia still borrowed things without asking.

Ariana still got bossy.

Mai still had dramatic meltdowns over tiny problems.

But now…

They apologised faster.

They listened more carefully.

They shared more often.

And every night before bed, the sisters squeezed together laughing about the strange magical attic.

One evening Mum peeked into the room and smiled softly.

“You three seem different lately.”

Ariana smiled.

“We’re trying.”

Melia nodded.

“To be better sisters.”

Mai grinned proudly.

“And best friends forever.”

Mum kissed the tops of their heads gently.

And as the girls cuddled beneath the fairy lights, they realised something important.

Sisters will not always agree.

They will annoy each other sometimes.

They will argue.

Shout.

Moan.

And slam doors dramatically.

But kindness matters.

Listening matters.

Love matters most of all.

Because long after toys are forgotten and arguments disappear…

Sisters can become the greatest friends life will ever give you. 💜
